Two different academic arrangements
Credit transfer concerns recognition of relevant prior learning towards your course. Cross-institutional study involves approved study at a host institution for credit towards your home institution’s qualification. The exact process and eligibility depend on the institutions and course.

Only the institution can approve credit. A similar subject name or an informal discussion does not establish equivalence.
Before enrolling at another institution
Ask the home institution to approve the exact subject, teaching period and credit outcome in writing. Confirm host admission, fees, assessment arrangements and when the transcript will be issued. Review how long your home institution needs to record the credit and confirm completion.
Academic approval does not establish that credit counts towards a visa study requirement. If relevant, have the 92-week and separate 16-calendar-month requirements, underlying study and overlapping periods reviewed by an independent migration professional.
