The BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) closure affects international students differently depending on whether they had already commenced. Check the exact course code and your provider’s written records before deciding what to do next.
What changed?
From 5 October 2026, new international students cannot enrol in or commence this qualification. Students who already started before that date can continue. This change concerns BSB80120; it should not be described as a closure of every Australian graduate diploma. See Study Australia’s official update.
I have an offer or CoE but had not commenced
Study Australia explains that uncommenced students cannot start and their CoEs for this course were to be cancelled on 5 October. Contact your provider for confirmation of your enrolment position and available options.
What about refunds and replacement study?
Where the change causes provider default, the official guidance describes a 14-day obligation to offer a suitable alternative accepted in writing or refund unspent tuition. If the provider does not fulfil its obligations, the Tuition Protection Service may assist. Do not assume every fee is refundable in every circumstance; obtain the provider’s written explanation.
Already studying or holding a package?
Students who commenced should ask for confirmation of their remaining delivery arrangements. If the qualification appears later in your package, request a revised plan. Review the Department of Education student fact sheet.
Compare alternatives carefully
Prepare a shortlist around what you want to learn and the qualification’s value to your career. Ask each proposed provider:
- Does my background meet the academic and English requirements?
- What is the qualification level and education sector?
- What credit can be formally approved?
- What is the total cost and actual completion timeline?
- What are the relevant enrolment and refund terms?
Keep copies of your offer, CoE, payment records and correspondence. Ask questions before signing a replacement agreement or paying another deposit.
Separate admission from immigration advice
A replacement offer does not establish visa eligibility. Review the proposed course change with an independent migration professional, particularly where your current visa expires before the new completion date. We can assist with education enquiries and provider communication, while the provider determines admission and credit.
